Our story

From our fields to your table.

Our family business spans two countries. In Ecuador, chifles aren't just a snack. They come with ceviche at the beach, encebollado on a Sunday, and every road trip along the coast. We wanted that same taste on shelves here in New Jersey, close to home.

So we split the work the way families do. In Ecuador, Marcos Antonio oversees production and export. Here in New Jersey, Eli runs the business from Belleville, and Dario takes care of distribution, getting our chips to stores.

When you write to us, you talk to us. No call center, no middlemen between our family and your shelf.

What are chifles?

Chifles are thin, crispy plantain chips, a classic snack from Ecuador's coast that's often eaten with ceviche or encebollado. Similar chips are called platanitos or mariquitas in the Caribbean.

Where are your plantain chips made?

In Ecuador. Marcos Antonio, part of our family, oversees production and export there, and our family in Belleville, New Jersey imports and distributes them.

What flavors do you have?

Original Sea Salt is available now. Lime, Garlic and Sweet Plantain are coming soon.

What sizes do you sell?

Original Sea Salt comes in a 12 oz bag and a 22 oz container. Package sizes are subject to change, and larger wholesale sizes (such as 28 oz) may also be available. Ask us for current sizes.

What are the ingredients?

Not yet. Right now we sell through local stores.

What's the difference between chifles and tostones?

Chifles are sliced thin and fried until crisp. Tostones (patacones) are thick slices that are fried, smashed and fried again.
